The Chrysalis BREW Project has announced that No Borders for Truth by Martin J. Brown has been selected as a Finalist for the BREW Readers’ Choice Award 2024–2025.
No Borders for Truth explores the intersecting lives of Richard Holmes, an American undergraduate athlete, and Shideh Ghasemi, a young Iranian woman confronting political and cultural change in 1970s Iran. Their experiences reveal the impact of identity, family, and historical upheaval across continents.

About the Author
Martin J. Brown is the author of Chuckanut Dreams (2018). He works as a high school teacher in the New York metropolitan area and has been recognized as a Hall of Fame Track and Field Coach. Brown’s op-ed essays have been featured in the Wall Street Journal and The New York Times. He is the father of seven adult children and grandfather to fifteen. Brown competed in distance running and triathlons for several decades and enjoys reading, jazz, soul music, poetry, and espresso.
